Our shop is at 297 Tripolia Bazar. If you’ve ever walked through the bazar, you know how tight the streets are and how many shops are packed in together. It’s one of those old parts of the city where history is everywhere. We’ve been here for a very long time, and the shop carries the names of the family. It’s a traditional setup. We don't have much room, so we use every inch of the walls to store our goods. Tripolia Bazar is famous for its gates and the constant flow of shoppers and rickshaws. It’s very loud and there is always something happening right outside the door. We open up early in the morning, usually after the street sweepers have passed. Our customers are often people we’ve known for decades. We sit on the floor or on small cushions and talk about the news while we do business. There isn't any corporate structure here. It’s just us running the shop like it has been run for years. We deal with various items depending on what the market demands at the time. The building is old and has a lot of character, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. It’s a way of life in the bazar that doesn't change much, and we are quite happy to be a part of it.
