Lalchand Heeralal

Kishanpole Bazar is the heart of the old city and we are sitting right on the Main Road at 204. Lalchand Heeralal has been around for a long time. You can see the history in the wooden counters and the way the ceiling is built. The Main Road is always packed with rickshaws and people walking. It is loud and colorful and we love it. Our shop at 204 is where we spend all our hours. We do not have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that people know where we are. We sell things the old fashioned way. You come in and we talk. There is no pressure. We have stacks of items reaching up to the lights. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what someone wants but we always do eventually. The dust from the street comes in but we keep things as clean as we can. It is an honest business. We have seen the city change a lot from our doorstep in Kishanpole Bazar. Some shops have gone but we are still here. We drink a lot of chai and talk to the neighbors. It is a community where everyone knows everyone. We do not need a mission statement. We just show up and open the shop. That is enough for us. The old floorboards still creak when you walk on them.
