Laxmi Handicraft & Saree Centre

You can find us at No. 129 in Sindhi Colony, right on Bhaskar Marg. Laxmi Handicraft & Saree Centre has been part of this neighborhood for quite a long time now. The shop is full of all sorts of things, from different types of sarees to handmade items that we’ve collected. It’s a bit crowded inside because we like to keep a lot of stock on hand for people to see. Sometimes it’s hard to move around when we have a few customers in at once. Bhaskar Marg is a busy street, so there is always noise from the traffic and people walking by. We don't have a modern showroom with bright lights. It’s just a regular shop with wooden shelves and old counters. We think it has a bit of a comfortable feel to it, like someone’s home. We know many of the families in Sindhi Colony because they’ve been coming to us for years. We open the doors around ten in the morning and usually don't close until late in the evening. It’s just how it goes when you run a local business. We spend a lot of time dusting the shelves and folding sarees back up after people look at them. It’s a lot of work but we don't mind it. We just enjoy being here and talking to the people who stop in. It’s a simple life for us at No. 129 and we plan to stay here as long as we can.
