Shweta Handicrafts

Shweta Handicrafts is located at number 8 in Jayanti Market, up on the second floor. You have to walk up the stairs, which can be a bit steep if you are carrying something heavy. Being in Jayanti Market means there is always a lot of noise and people moving around downstairs. Once you get up to the second floor, it gets a bit quieter. We have been in this unit for quite a while now. The space is filled with all the things we make and collect. It can look a bit cluttered to an outsider, but we know exactly where everything is kept. We don't have a big fancy showroom. It's more of a workspace where we also meet people. Most of the work happens on the large table in the middle of the room. We sit there for hours sometimes, just focusing on the details. My sister and I run the place together. We don't really follow a strict corporate schedule. If there is work to be done, we stay late. If it's a slow day, we might close up a bit early to beat the traffic. Jayanti Market is a historic kind of place and we have a spot here. We don't do much in terms of fancy marketing. Usually, someone tells a friend about us and they find their way up the stairs. That's how it's always been. We just keep working away up here until the day is done.
