Shri Om Hair Dresser

I have been running Shri Om Hair Dresser for quite a few years now. The shop is located at No-295 in Katta Ki Gali, which is right in the heart of Durgapura. It is not a very big place, but we keep it clean. Most people find us because we are right near the Jain Mandir. It is a landmark everyone knows around here. We open early because a lot of men like to get their shave or a quick haircut before they head off to their jobs in the morning. Sometimes the street gets a bit crowded, but that is just how things are in Jaipur. We have a couple of chairs and some basic mirrors. It is nothing fancy. I do the cutting myself most of the time, or I have one person helping out when it gets busy on weekends. People come in, they sit, we talk about the weather or what is happening in the neighborhood. It feels good to see the same faces every month. Durgapura has changed a lot, but this little spot in Katta Ki Gali stays pretty much the same. I try to make sure everyone leaves looking a bit neater than when they walked in. We don’t have those big salon prices here. It is just a regular place for regular people who want a decent haircut without any fuss or waiting for hours. I usually stay until late evening before closing up the shutters.
