Shree Shyam Hair Saloon

Our saloon is located on Mount Road in the Kagdiwara area, right near Amer Road in Jaipur. We are quite close to the Ram Mandir, so you can often hear the bells ringing in the morning and evening. It’s a very traditional part of town. The shop itself is simple, with blue walls and a few big mirrors that have some spots on them. We don't have a big fancy sign, but the locals know where we are. I start the day early, sweeping the front and getting the tools ready. Because we are near Amer Road, we see a lot of tourists passing by, but our main customers are the people who live in the narrow lanes around here. We talk about the local festivals and the weather while I work. The chairs are old and have been repaired a few times, but they still work fine. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded and people have to stand outside on the sidewalk, but nobody really complains. It’s just the way it is here. I’ve lived in Jaipur all my life and I like this neighborhood. It feels like home. We don't use any chemical-heavy stuff, just the basic soaps and creams that have been around for years. If you need a haircut and you are near the temple, you can just walk in. We don't do appointments; you just wait your turn like everyone else.
