Our shop, Shree Bhagwati Udyog, is at 1273, right at the first crossing of Khejre Ka Rasta in Chandpole Bazar. It is a very tight area to get around in. The lanes are narrow and there are people everywhere at all hours. We have a small storefront and a bit of space in the back for storage. It’s a traditional market vibe here. We have stuff stacked up to the ceiling in some places to save space. You have to be careful not to knock anything over when you walk in. The building is old, like most things in this part of the city. We have a small wooden stool where we sit when there aren't many people around. Most of the day is spent handling the stock and talking to people who pass by the door. It gets really hot in the summer because the air doesn't move much in these narrow paths between the buildings. We use a handheld fan sometimes when the electricity goes out. The noise from the bazar is constant. You hear bells from the cycles, shouting, and the sound of carts being pushed. It’s a busy life. We don't have a website or anything. We just do things the old-fashioned way. The records are kept in big ledgers with blue covers. It’s worked for us so far, so we just keep going with it. It is what it is, and we like the feeling of being in the heart of the market.
