Our shop, Gupta Plaster, is tucked away in the middle of Gangouri Bazar at Sardul Singh Ki Naal 29. It’s a bit of a narrow lane to get through, but most people find us eventually once they know the landmark. We deal with plaster and building materials every single day. It’s messy work sometimes, and there is usually a fine layer of white dust on the floor and the counters, but that is just how it is in this business. We have been sitting here at number 29 for a lot of years now. If you need a few bags of plaster or maybe just some advice on how to fix a patch on your wall, we are usually around to help. The shop itself is quite small, so we have to keep most of the heavy bags stacked towards the back where it stays dry. Gangouri Bazar is a very lively and loud place, and we actually enjoy being part of the daily noise and the crowd. My brother and I run the place together mostly. We don't have a big staff or any of those fancy computer systems for our inventory. We just write everything down in a thick ledger and talk to the customers directly as they come in. Sometimes we run out of specific stock when a big local project comes through, but we can usually get more in a day or two. No one really expects anything too polished or fancy here. We just want to make sure people get what they need. We are here daily.
