Shivam Overseas

Our office, Shivam Overseas, is over at B-29 Ratna Sagar on M.S.B. Ka Rasta. This is right in the heart of Johari Bazar, so it’s always crowded and full of life. We have been here in this building for quite a few years. It’s a busy part of the city where everyone is buying and selling jewelry and textiles. We focus on overseas stuff, mostly sending things out or getting things in. It is a lot of paperwork and checking boxes. The office isn’t very large, and it’s usually filled with samples and shipping containers. We don't have a fancy reception area. You just walk in and we are right there at our desks. Johari Bazar can be a nightmare for parking, so we usually just walk or use a scooty to get around. We’ve got a lot of history in this area. My father used to work in the same market many years ago. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make sure the goods get to the right place at the right time. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out, but we just keep working through it. It’s a practical business. We know the other shop owners on the rasta and we all look out for each other. It’s just a normal day-to-day operation for us. Nothing too complicated about it, just business as usual.
