Shivam Mobile & General Store

Our shop, Shivam Mobile & General Store, sits near Ferdos Masjid in the Bhatta Basti area of New Sanjay Nagar. It is a busy corner in Shastri Nagar. We have two parts to the business really. One side has the mobile phone accessories like chargers, covers, and screen guards. The other side is more for general items like soap, biscuits, and notebooks for the school kids. It is a bit of a mix, but it works for the people living around here. The glass display case for the phones is a bit scratched up from years of use. I usually have a few different chargers plugged in behind the counter to test things for customers. The space is tight, so we have boxes stacked up high near the ceiling. It gets hot in the afternoons because the sun hits the front of the shop directly. We have a small plastic fan that oscillates, but it does not do much. People come in to recharge their phones or just to buy a cold drink from the small fridge we keep in the corner. Sometimes the neighborhood kids hang around out front. It is a lively spot with the mosque nearby and people always walking past. We try to keep the most common things in stock so nobody has to walk too far. It is just a basic shop where we do a bit of everything to keep things going. We have been here for years and most people in Bhatta Basti know where we are. It is just a regular life running the counter every day.
