Shivam Hair & Gents Parlour

Our parlor is on 100 Ft Road in the Jhotwara area, specifically at Plot No. 262. People around here know the spot as Pandit Ji Ki Thari. It’s a working-class neighborhood and our shop fits right in. We have the usual blue and red chairs that you see in many gents' parlors across Jaipur. The walls have some old pictures of different hair styles that nobody really asks for anymore, but they’ve been there forever. We mainly do basic haircuts and shaves for the local guys. The road outside is always dusty because of the construction and the heavy traffic, so we have to wipe down the counters and mirrors pretty often. We have a small TV in the corner that’s usually on a news channel or showing a cricket match if one is playing that day. The water we use for hair washes comes from a small tank we keep filled. It’s a simple life here. We start early in the morning and stay open until the street lights come on and everyone goes home. Sometimes friends stop by just to sit and talk for a bit even if they don't need a haircut. We don't have any fancy booking systems; people just walk in and wait their turn on the bench. It’s a humble place, just a roof and some scissors and a bit of conversation to get through the daily grind.
