Shivam Carpets

Shivam Carpets is located at 171, Kalyanpuri, very close to the railway station in Sanganer. You can hear the trains passing by all day and night, which was loud at first but now we don't even notice. The shop is in an older building that has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit narrow and steep. We have carpets stacked up everywhere, from the floor right up to the ceiling in some parts. It makes the whole place feel a bit like a maze. We spend a lot of time unrolling them for people to look at and then rolling them back up again. It’s heavy work and our backs definitely feel it by the end of the day. Sanganer is known for this kind of work, so we fit right in with the other shops in the area. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Most people just walk in because they saw the sign while heading to the station. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the ledger. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. The lighting isn't the best in the back of the shop, so we often have to bring the carpets out to the front door to show the true colors in the sunlight. We’ve been here for many years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. It’s a busy, dusty place but it’s home to us and our business.
