We are over here at Shop No 33/161 on Tonk Road. It is right across from the Kendra Vidyalaya school in Pratap Nagar. Most days, we open up early because the students and parents are moving around. The fans keep spinning all day long to fight the Jaipur heat. It’s just a small place with a few chairs and mirrors that have seen better days. People stop by when they are passing through Tonk Road or after finishing work. We keep the shop clean enough. Sometimes the radio is playing some old songs, and other times it’s just the sound of scissors clicking. The tea stall nearby brings over a glass every few hours. It’s quiet in the afternoons when the sun is at its peak. Our shop is easy to find if you know where the school is. We’ve been in this part of Pratap Nagar for a while now. The chairs are comfortable but simple. You see the same faces every month. Life moves pretty fast outside on the main road, but inside here, things are a bit slower. We don't have fancy lights or big signs. Just the basic stuff for a haircut or a shave. If you are near the Kendra Vidyalaya, you will see our board. It’s a honest spot for the local men to sit for a bit. We don't talk too much unless the customer wants to chat about the news or the cricket score. It's a regular life for us here.
