Shiv Gents Beauty Salon

Our shop is located in Laxmi Nagar, right on the Chand Chakki Road near NH-8 in Kotputli. Being so close to the highway means we get a mix of local people and people just passing through on their way to or from Jaipur. The Shani Dev Ka Mandir is nearby, so the area gets quite busy on certain days. We called it a beauty salon, but really, it's just a place for men to get a haircut or a shave. We have a few modern chairs and we try to keep the place looking decent. It’s not always easy with the dust from the road. We spend a lot of time sweeping. My brother and I run the place. We learned the work back in our village and then moved here to start something of our own. It’s a lot of work, and the hours are long. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics that work. We listen to the stories of the truck drivers who stop by and the locals who tell us about the crops or the weather. It makes the day go by faster. We aren't looking to become a big chain or anything. We just want to keep the shop running and make sure the people who leave our chairs look a bit better than when they walked in. That is enough for us.
