Shilpi Arts

Our place is situated on the second floor of B-19 on M.I. Road. Since it is a famous road, there is always a huge amount of traffic and people walking past below. Up here on the second floor, it is a little bit quieter than the street level. We have some large windows that look out over the road so we can see the city moving. We spend our days working on various art projects. It is a real mix of tasks. Sometimes we are focusing on very small details for hours, and other times we are just trying to organize all the stock on the shelves. The stairs leading up to our floor are quite steep and narrow. We have gotten used to climbing them many times a day. It is a simple setup with a few sturdy tables, some old chairs, and rows of wooden shelves. M.I. Road has a lot of history and we feel like a tiny part of that story. People often stop by when they are exploring this part of the city. We do not have a big glowing sign, so you really have to look for the building number to find us. It is mostly just us and the sound of the ceiling fans spinning during the hot months. We drink a lot of water and just keep working through the day. We do not try to act like a big corporation. We just make our things and hope people like them.
