Sharma Handicraft

Sharma Handicraft is located at 3311 in Chandpole Bazar, specifically on the lane called Bhindo Ka Rasta. We are very close to the Mata Ji Ka Mandir, so we always hear the temple bells and the prayers throughout the day. It is a very traditional part of Jaipur, and the lanes are quite narrow, so you have to be careful when walking or riding a bike through here. Our workspace is small and filled with the tools of our trade. There is always the smell of materials and the sound of someone working on a piece nearby. We do not have a lot of room for a fancy office, so we just use what we have available. Most of the time, the floor is covered in shavings or scraps, but that just shows we are busy. We have been in this spot for generations, and not much has changed inside these walls, even though the city outside is growing very fast. Customers usually find us by word of mouth or by stumbling upon us while they are visiting the temple. It can be quite a struggle to get deliveries in and out because of how narrow the streets are, but we have our ways of making it work. We stay open late into the evening because that is when the market really comes alive with people. It is a lot of hard work, but being part of this old community is what we know.
