Sharma Crafts Centre is tucked away at 81, Jhalanion Ka Rasta in Kishan Pole Bazar. If you know the bazar, you know how crowded and lively it is. There’s always noise from the shops and people walking past. Our shop is right in the middle of it. We have been here for a long time, and the family has always been involved. We mostly work with different types of traditional crafts. The space is small and every inch is used for storing something. We have stools for people to sit on if they want to look at things closely. It’s not the kind of place with air conditioning or bright modern lights. We use what we have. Kishan Pole Bazar has a lot of history and we feel like a part of that. Most of our customers are people who have been coming to us for years. We don't really do any big advertising. Word of mouth is how most people find us in the maze of the lanes. We spend our days talking to visitors and showing them what we have. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside and chat until it comes back. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We don't worry about being the biggest shop around. We just want to keep the crafts going and earn a decent living doing it.
