Shankar Hair Drasser

I have been running this shop here at the Paota bus stand for quite some time now. Being right on the Nh-8 road means we see a lot of different faces every day. Some people are just passing through Jaipur on the highway and need a quick trim before they keep going, while others are neighbors who have lived here as long as I have. The shop isn't anything too big or fancy, just a couple of chairs and the usual tools I need to get the job done. It gets pretty loud outside with all the buses and trucks rumbling by, but inside we just focus on the work. I usually start early in the morning because that is when the workers want to get their shaves done before their shifts start. Sometimes I'm here late too if the foot traffic from the bus stand is heavy. My mirrors are a bit old and the floor gets covered in hair pretty fast during the rush, but I sweep up when I can. People come in to talk about the weather or whatever is happening in the news while they wait their turn on the wooden bench. I don't have a big team or anything, just me and occasionally some help when it’s really packed. It’s a simple life running a place like this in Paota, but it keeps me busy and I know most of the people who walk through that door by name. I try to keep enough water for everyone too.
