Shah Jahan Mughal Handicrafts Arts is out on the Delhi Bypass road, over in Kama Nagar. The full address is 6482 Kama Nagar Lalwas Bandha Naai Ki Thadi Road. It’s a bit of a mouthful, but once you get here, you’ll see we are just a small place dedicated to making handicrafts. We work with our hands to create various pieces, mostly following the Mughal styles that have been around for a long time. It’s a dusty area near the bypass, and the traffic noise is constant, but we find our rhythm in the work. We have piles of materials everywhere and half-finished projects sitting on tables. It might look messy to someone else, but we know where everything is. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights. Most of our work is sold to people who know the value of something made by hand rather than a machine. The sun sets over the bypass and that’s usually when we start packing up for the day. It is hard work, and sometimes our fingers are sore from the fine details, but it is what we know how to do. We’ve been at this spot for a while, and the neighbors on Naai Ki Thadi Road are all used to seeing us. We just keep our heads down and try to make things that look decent.
