You’ll find Shades Exotica Salon inside the Jaipur Marriott Hotel on Ashram Marg. It’s right near Jawahar Circle, which is a beautiful spot in the city. Working in a hotel is a bit different because we see a lot of travelers as well as people who live right here in Jaipur. The salon is a part of the hotel building, so it’s easy for guests to find us. We keep things pretty tidy because of the setting. It’s a professional space with all the usual hair and skin equipment. We have some nice big mirrors and comfortable chairs for the long appointments. It’s usually quiet in here, which is nice when the rest of the city feels so fast. We do a lot of styling for events since there are often weddings or parties happening in the hotel. But we also have locals who just drive over for their regular grooming. The air conditioning is always running, which is a relief in the summer months. We don’t do a lot of talking about ourselves; we just wait for the next person to walk in and get started. It’s a steady pace most days. We like being in this part of town near the circle. It’s a good location for a business like ours. Most days are busy but not overly stressful, just how we like it.
