Santosh Mahila Grah Udyog

Santosh Mahila Grah Udyog is based in the Sarna Dungar Industrial Area at G 68. We are a small group of women working together to make various home-style food items. We mostly focus on things like pickles, papads, and different types of snacks that you would usually find in an Indian kitchen. We started this because we wanted to work and use the skills we already had from cooking at home for our families. Our workspace isn't like a cold, modern factory. It feels more like a very large kitchen where everyone is busy chopping, mixing spices, or drying things out in the sun. We use traditional recipes that have been in our families for a long time. There are no fancy machines doing all the work; it is mostly done by hand. We talk and share stories while we work, which makes the day go by faster. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when we have a big order to finish, but we all pitch in to get it done. We sell our products to local shops and sometimes directly to people who know about us through word of mouth. We don't have a big brand name or expensive packaging. We just put our products in simple containers and let the taste speak for itself. Being in Sarna Dungar helps us stay connected to the local markets. It’s honest work that helps us support our families and stay independent in our own way.
