N.S Road in Shyamnagar is usually packed with cars and people going to the Lazeez Hotel. Samrat Beauty Hair Art is right there at shop number one. Being next to a hotel means we get a lot of different people, not just the locals from 302019. The shop is a bit modern compared to the ones in the old city. I have some rolling chairs and a few shelves for the bottles. I try to keep the place looking neat, but by the afternoon, there are always clippings on the floor and empty cups on the counter. The air inside smells like talcum powder and sometimes the food from the hotel next door. It is a bright shop because of the glass front. I spend a lot of time cleaning the fingerprints off the door. People come in and ask for all sorts of things they see on the internet. I just do what I can with the tools I have. The scissors are old but I take good care of them. Sometimes the water pressure is low, so I have to use a bucket to rinse things out. It is just part of running a business in this part of Jaipur. It is a long day from nine to nine, but it is what I know how to do.
