Sameer Hair Salon is tucked away in Pratap Nagar. It’s a straightforward kind of place where you can get your hair cut without any fuss. We’ve got the usual setup with mirrors on the walls and those black chairs that spin around. Most of our customers are locals from the 302033 area who have been coming to us for years. We know most of their stories by heart now. The shop opens up in the morning and we stay until the evening lights come on in the street. Pratap Nagar can get quite busy, especially in the evenings when people are coming home from work. We get a lot of young guys looking for the latest styles they saw on TV, and we do our best with what we have. It’s not a big corporate chain, just a local shop run by people who live nearby. We keep our combs in jars of blue liquid and the scissors are always sharp. The floor gets covered in hair pretty quickly, so we are always grabbing the broom between customers. Sometimes the tea man from down the street brings us a cup while we work. It’s a good routine. We don't have a big sign, just enough so you can find us if you’re looking. If the chairs are full, there’s a small bench where you can wait. We don't do anything fancy, just solid work for the people in Jaipur. We are just regular people here.
