You can find Sajan Hair Art at the Kot Khavda Mod in the Chaksu area. This part of Jaipur is always moving, especially being near the main road. I’ve been working here for quite some time now. The shop is a bit small, and when we have three or four people waiting, it gets a little cramped. I try to keep the chairs moving so nobody has to wait too long. I’ve got some old mirrors that have a few chips around the edges, but they still work fine for seeing what I’m doing. People in Chaksu are hard workers, so they usually just want a quick trim so they can get back to their day. I don't go in for anything too complicated or modern. I just do what I was taught. The floor is usually covered in hair by mid-afternoon, but I try to sweep it out when there’s a break. My hands are usually stained with a bit of hair dye or just wet from the spray bottle. It’s a honest way to spend the day. I listen to the tea stall owner next door and the bikes zooming past the mod. Sometimes the heat is tough, but we have a small fan that keeps the air moving a little bit. It’s just a normal shop for regular people who need a haircut. Nothing more and nothing less. That is the way we like it.
