Sahiba Handicrafts is located on Amer Road, right near the Jorawar Singh Gate in the Handicrafts Market. This is a part of the city that is always full of people, especially tourists who are heading up to the fort. Our shop is packed with all kinds of items, from small trinkets to larger pieces of work, and there is never really a clear path through the aisles. We have been at this spot for many years and we have seen the street change quite a bit over time. The Jorawar Singh Gate is a beautiful backdrop, even if the traffic around it is a bit of a mess most of the day. At Sahiba Handicrafts, we don't have a formal way of doing things. We just open the shop, put some items out on the pavement, and wait to see who comes by. It is a very hands-on business and we spend a lot of time cleaning the dust off the shelves because of all the vehicles passing by on Amer Road. We sit on the floor or on small stools and talk to the neighbors when it is quiet. There is no air conditioning, just a couple of old fans that struggle against the heat in June. We don't have a big website or a catalog to show people. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come to the market and look around. It is a simple, old-fashioned way of running a shop.
