You can find S L S Chemistry Point at number 1/261 on the Malviya Nagar Main Road. It is basically just a few rooms filled with stacks of books, some old glass beakers, and wooden benches for the students. I have been teaching chemistry here for a few years now. It’s not a big institution with a lot of staff or fancy uniforms. Mostly it’s just me explaining the periodic tables and chemical reactions to kids who are worried about their upcoming board exams. The walls are covered in science charts that are starting to yellow at the edges from the sun. Malviya Nagar is a busy place, so there is always the sound of horns and traffic outside while we are trying to focus on the formulas. Students come in after their regular school hours, usually looking a bit tired and carrying heavy bags. We have a small corner where they can leave their things. Sometimes the lights flicker when the weather gets bad, but we just keep going with the lesson using a flashlight if we have to. It’s a simple setup. I don't use any fancy software or digital screens, just a marker and a plain whiteboard. We go through the textbook page by page until they understand. It’s a lot of repetition, but that is how they learn. Most of the parents around here know me by now. They stop by the shop downstairs to ask how their kids are doing.
