S. K. Hair Studio

We are situated over on Sheopur Road in Pratap Nagar, right across from the Saras Parlour. Most people use the parlour as a landmark to find us. S. K. Hair Studio isn't a big place, just a regular shop where we do haircuts and shaves for the people in this neighborhood. The chairs are comfortable enough, though they creak a bit when you sit down. I like to keep the shop organized, but by midday, there are usually magazines and hair all over the place. We get a mix of young guys looking for something new and older men who have been getting the same cut for thirty years. It is interesting to see the different styles people ask for. The road outside stays quite loud with the buses and bikes, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes the water pressure isn't great, but we make it work with what we have. We have some lights around the mirrors so we can see what we are doing when it gets dark early in the winter. It is just a steady business for us here in Jaipur. We don't have any fancy machines, just our hands and the tools we have used for years. Every day is pretty much the same, but that is okay with us.
