Rk Hair Cutting Salon is situated on Ramnagariya Road in the Jagat Pura area of Jaipur. We are right opposite Panwar Hospital, so there is always a lot of movement outside our doors. People are coming and going from the hospital all day, and sometimes they pop in for a quick shave while they are waiting for someone. The shop itself is quite modest. We have a couple of large mirrors that have seen many faces over the years. We started this place to serve the locals in Jagat Pura and the students from the nearby colleges. It is a simple setup with a few chairs and a small area to sit if the shop is full. We don't have any fancy decorations or air conditioning. A couple of ceiling fans do the job of keeping the air moving during the hot Jaipur summers. We use basic towels and standard razors, making sure everything is kept as tidy as we can manage. The conversations in the shop usually revolve around local events or what is happening at the hospital across the street. We don't put on any acts here. It is just a place where you can get your hair cut without any fuss. The rhythm of the day is predictable, from the morning cleanup to the evening rush when people are heading home.
