Over here at A 141 & 142 in the Murlipura Scheme, things move at their own pace. Rimjhim Handicraft is basically where we spend all our daylight hours. The workshop area is always cluttered with pieces of wood, fabric, and tools scattered across the benches. It is tucked away near the Jaipur G P O area, so we get a mix of people stopping by. Some days the floor is covered in sawdust or thread clippings, depending on what we are working on that week. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just a handful of us who know how to handle the materials. My hands usually have some sort of stain or mark on them by lunch. We have a couple of old ceiling fans that hum loudly, but they keep the heat away during the peak summer months. It is interesting to see how a raw piece of material eventually turns into something you can actually use or display. We don’t spend money on fancy advertisements or anything like that. People mostly find us because they live nearby or someone told them about our spot in Murlipura. It’s a lot of sitting, cutting, and fixing things until they look right. Sometimes we stay late when a big batch needs finishing, but usually, we close up when the streetlights come on. It’s just honest work with our hands, day after day, keeping the craft going.
