Retro Crafts Pvt. Ltd. is located over on Bhagirath Marg in Shyam Nagar. We’re at B-67, not too far from the main Ajmer Road. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time. We work with various craft items, things that have a bit of a traditional feel to them. The workshop area usually has scraps of wood or metal lying around depending on what we are working on that week. It’s not a polished retail store. It’s more of a place where things actually get made and packed. My desk is usually covered in drawings and order forms. Sometimes we have tea out front when the weather is nice. We started this because we liked making things by hand. The neighborhood knows us as the place with the boxes piled up near the gate. We get people stopping by asking if we sell individual pieces, and usually, we just show them what’s on the shelves. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, so we start early in the morning to beat the sun. We don’t spend much on advertising or anything like that. People just find us through word of mouth or by seeing the sign on the road. It’s a simple setup, just a group of us making crafts and trying to keep the shipping schedules on track. We don't mind the long hours because there is always something interesting to work on here.
