Rao Bricks

We are located in the Sitapura Industrial Area, right in the middle of Phase 3rd. It is easy to find us because we are right near the Swastik Copper factory. This part of Jaipur gets incredibly hot in the summer, which makes working with bricks even tougher than usual. Our yard is basically a large open space where we keep the materials and the kilns. We don’t have air conditioning or anything fancy like that; we just have a small room where we keep the records. Most of our day is spent watching the fire or loading up the trucks that come in from the main road. It’s a noisy neighborhood with all the other factories around, but you get used to the sounds of industry after a few weeks. We are a small team, and we’ve been working together for a long time. We don’t use any complicated systems. If someone needs an order, we write it down in a ledger and get to work. Sometimes we run out of space because the yard gets cramped with too many bricks, so we have to move things around constantly. We aren’t interested in being a huge corporation. We just want to keep the kiln hot and the bricks moving out to the construction sites nearby. It is hard, dusty work, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills.
