About Rajasthani Handicraft Exports – Art & Craft in Jaipur
It is usually pretty hot in the Sitapura Industrial Area, and our spot at G-315-316 is no exception. We have been working out of this space for quite a while now, handling all sorts of Rajasthani handicraft exports. The Epip Zone is a busy place with trucks coming in and out at all hours of the day. You can always hear the sound of packing tape being pulled and boxes being moved around. Our team is not very big, just a handful of local people who have been with us for years. We don’t have a fancy office with leather chairs or anything like that. Instead, there are stacks of papers on old wooden desks and samples of our work cluttering up every corner. The floor is often covered in wood shavings or bits of fabric depending on what we are packing that week. Sometimes the power goes out in the middle of the afternoon, and we all just sit outside in the shade for a bit until it comes back on. It’s not a polished corporate environment, but it works for us. We spend most of our time double-checking orders and making sure everything is wrapped up tight so nothing breaks on the long journey overseas. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the daily news while we work. It’s just a regular local business where everyone knows everyone else. We just focus on getting the work done and getting home to our families.
