About Rajasthani Brass & Handicraft – Art & Craft in Jaipur
Our workshop and shop are located at 152 Brahmpuri. We are in Santosh Sagar Colony, specifically in Galli No 2. It’s one of those narrow streets where everyone knows each other. Being in the brass business means there is always a lot of polishing and the sound of metal hitting metal. We have all sorts of Rajasthani handicrafts tucked away on the shelves. The air in the colony is usually filled with the smell of cooking or the sounds of kids playing when school is out. Our space is filled with brass statues, bowls, and other small items. Some of it is shiny and some is a bit dull until we work on it. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We spend our mornings dusting the items because the street dust finds its way in easily. Galli No 2 isn't very wide, so you have to be careful walking through. We’ve lived and worked in Brahmpuri for a long time. The work is slow and takes a lot of patience to get the details right on the metalwork. Sometimes neighbors stop by just to chat for a bit while we are sorting through the stock. It’s not a big commercial operation, just a local spot where we make and sell traditional things. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till the lights go out at night. We just keep the traditions going as best as we can.
