If you walk down Amer Road towards the Golimar Garden, you will find us in the Shilp Gram Complex. It is a busy area because of all the people going to see the forts. We have been here for years, surrounded by all kinds of local things. Our shop is full of different items made by hands. There is always a lot of color when you walk inside. We spend our time dusting the shelves and talking to people who wander in after seeing the sights nearby. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running all the time. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps and watch the tourists go by in their taxis. The complex has a lot of history and we feel like a small part of it. We work with many different people who bring us their work from the villages. It is a lot of unpacking boxes and arranging things so people can see them clearly. We don't have a big corporate setup. It is just us and the goods we sell. Sometimes we get locals looking for a gift, and other times it is someone from very far away who has never seen anything like this before. We try to keep things simple and honest. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but the items on the shelves are what really matter to us and the people who make them.
