Down at 335 New Sanganer Road, things stay pretty busy. We’re right in Katewa Nagar, and Pushpa Art & Craft has become a bit of a fixture in this neighborhood. The front of the shop is mostly glass, so the afternoon sun hits the displays pretty hard. Inside, it smells like paint, glue, and sometimes fresh wood. We have stacks of supplies and finished crafts everywhere you look. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find everything in a neat line; it’s more about hunting through the shelves to find that one specific thing you need. I spend a lot of time talking to folks who are working on their own projects at home. Sometimes they show me pictures of what they’ve made. We have been here for a while, and the walls are covered in bits and pieces of art that never quite got sold or were just kept for decoration. Running a small place like this means you do everything from sweeping the floor to handling the accounts. The New Sanganer Road is always loud with traffic, but once you step inside, it feels a bit more quiet, even with all the stuff everywhere. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us making sure things don’t get too dusty. It’s a good way to spend the day, surrounded by colors and materials. We just keep the doors open and help people find what they’re looking for without making a big fuss about it. We open at ten usually.
