We’ve been sitting here on Ajmer Road for quite some time now, just near that unnamed road that everyone misses if they aren’t looking closely. My brother and I run the place, and mostly it is just about getting these iron bars off the trucks and into the hands of people building their houses around Rani Sati Nagar and Nirman Nagar. It gets really dusty out here with all the construction going on in Brijlalpura, but that’s just how it is when you’re in this line of work. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning that works all the time, just a desk and some chairs where we sit and talk to the contractors. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow lanes around here, which is a bit of a headache for everyone involved. We try to keep things simple and just focus on what’s in front of us today. People usually find us by looking for the big stacks of TMT bars near the turnoff. It’s not the quietest spot in the world, what with all the traffic coming off the main road, but it works for us. We know most of the guys around here by name, and they know where to find us if they need a load of steel for a new roof or a foundation. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is beating down on the yard, but we just get on with it.
