Anupam Trading Co

Being located at Panch Batti Circle on M I Road means we are right in the thick of things. Anupam Trading Co has been at number 293 for as long as I can remember. The area is always crowded with tourists and locals, and the noise from the street never really stops. Inside the shop, things are a bit quieter, but not by much. We trade in all sorts of things, and the inventory changes depending on the month. My father started this, and now I’m the one opening the shutters every morning. The floorboards creak a bit, and the shelves are packed high with stuff we’ve collected over the years. We don't have a website or anything like that; people usually just walk in or call the landline. Dealing with suppliers takes up half my morning, and the other half is spent talking to customers who come in looking for specific items. It’s a bit of a maze back in the storeroom. Sometimes I can't even find my own pen under all the invoices. We have a small stool for guests, though most people prefer to stand and chat while we look for what they need. It’s a simple life, really. Panch Batti is a landmark, so at least nobody ever gets lost trying to find us. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, year after year, right here on this corner. It’s dusty and loud outside, but it is our spot and we are used to the chaos.
