Pragya Paintings & Handicraft

Our little shop, Pragya Paintings & Handicraft, is located at Plot No. A-22-A on Amani Shah Road. We are right opposite Tiwari Bhawan in the Shastri Nagar area. If you walk inside, the first thing you will notice is the smell of oil paints and wood. It’s not a very organized place, to be honest. There are half-finished canvases leaning against the walls and boxes of handicraft items stacked in the corners. We try to keep things tidy, but when you are working with your hands, it is hard to stay perfectly clean. The lighting is a bit dim in certain spots, but we have big lamps for when we are doing the fine details on a painting. Most of the people working here are just local folks who enjoy making things. We don't have a big showroom with spotlights. It’s more like a workshop where people can come in and see what we are currently working on. Sometimes we sit on the floor to work because it’s more comfortable for certain types of crafts. The road outside is usually noisy with scooters and people going about their business, but inside it feels a bit more slowed down. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. We just make our art and crafts and people seem to find their way to us. It’s a bit of a mess, but it is a creative one.
