Prabhat Exports India is at 1740 Khazanewalon Ka Rasta, right in the Jiledaron Ka Chowk area. This part of the city is always full of noise and people, especially when the day first starts. Our workspace is an old structure that has been here for a long time. We spend our days handling various goods for export, mostly packing and checking things over. There is no air conditioning in the building, so we rely on a few old ceiling fans that make a lot of noise. The chowk outside is a meeting place for everyone in the neighborhood, so we hear constant talking coming through the front door. We don't have a big sign, just the address painted on the wall. Inside, the stone floors stay quite cold when the winter months arrive. We use a few big wooden tables to lay out the items before they are put into their shipping boxes. It’s a lot of manual work, mostly lifting and shifting things between the small rooms. We know the local tea sellers well, and they bring us hot cups throughout the day to keep us moving. Sometimes a stray cow or a delivery cart blocks the entire lane, and everything just comes to a standstill for a while. We don't mind the slower pace when that happens. It’s just how things go at Jiledaron Ka Chowk. Most of the people working here live just a few streets away from Khazanewalon Ka Rasta. It is a simple setup at 1740, nothing fancy to see, but we stay busy enough.
