Pooja Bandhani

We have a couple of spots inside Navjeevan Plaza on M. I. Road. Our main work happens in rooms 203-204 on the second floor, but we also have space at UG-25 on the first floor. Being near Saraogi Mansion means we are right in the middle of the busy Jaipur market scene. Navjeevan Plaza is always full of people looking for fabrics and jewelry. At Pooja Bandhani, we spend most of our time surrounded by colorful cloth. The second-floor rooms are where we keep the bulk of our stock, and it can get a bit hot up there during the summer months. We have fans going all day to keep the air moving. The stairs can be a bit steep, so we try to keep things organized so we don't have to run up and down too often. It’s a very traditional kind of environment. We don’t have a lot of modern decor. Instead, we have shelves piled high with bandhani work. You might see us sitting on the floor sometimes, sorting through the new arrivals. It’s a lot of work to keep track of all the different patterns and colors. We usually have a cup of chai on the table for anyone who stops by to look at the collections. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s where we like to be. We keep a large ledger on the main desk for entries.
