We work out of Khatipura. It’s a place that has changed a lot lately, but our corner of it stays pretty much the same. The building is just a functional space where we keep our inventory and handle the shipping details. It’s usually a bit of a mess with tape and boxes everywhere, especially on Mondays. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters. We just answer the phone and tell people what we have available. My brother handles most of the logistics, and I stay here to watch the floor. It’s a long day, starting early before the sun gets too high. By the afternoon, the heat in Khatipura is something you just have to live with. We have a small radio that plays in the background, mostly just for some noise while we work. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big office. We just want to get the exports out without any trouble. Sometimes a shipment gets delayed at the port, and those are the days we end up staying late. It’s just part of the job. We’ve learned over the years that things rarely go exactly as planned, so we just stay flexible and keep going. Usually, we close up shop around six, unless there is a big deadline looming over us. Then we just order some food and keep at it until the job is done.
