Patwar Classes is right here in Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur. I’ve been running this place for a while now. The rooms are basic, just desks and chairs and a few fans that hum when the power is on. It gets quite loud in the afternoons because of the traffic outside, but the students don’t seem to mind much. We spend a lot of time looking at old papers and going through books together. It’s not some big fancy institution with a shiny lobby. It’s just a space we rented to help people get through their exams. Most of the people who come here live within walking distance or take the local bus. My desk is usually covered in notebooks and pens that have run out of ink. Sometimes I forget to tidy up, but it’s a busy place. We have a small area in the back where we keep a water cooler and some extra chairs for when it gets crowded. Jaipur summers are tough, so we mostly just try to stay cool and focus on the work. I know most of the shopkeepers nearby, and we often get our tea from the same spot every morning. It feels like a small community. There’s no secret to what we do here, we just show up every day and get to it. The walls could use a new coat of paint, maybe next year when I have a bit more saved up.
