Patanjali Ias Class is located at Lal Kothi, right in the middle of Jaipur. Our building is called Patanjali Bhawan and it’s a bit of a landmark for people in Satya Vihar. The stairs are a little steep, so everyone usually walks up slowly. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of benches and whiteboards. We have piles of old newspapers everywhere because that’s what happens when you’re dealing with civil services. The light in the hallway flickers sometimes, but nobody really minds because they are too busy looking at their notes. It gets very crowded during the weekends. We often have to bring in extra stools from the storage room. It’s not a very quiet place because there is always some discussion or another happening in the corners. We keep a big water cooler near the entrance since it gets so dry here. The clock on the wall is five minutes fast, but we haven't bothered to fix it yet. It keeps everyone on their toes, I guess. Most of our days are spent just handing out papers and making sure there is enough ink for the markers. It feels like a very busy house sometimes rather than an office. We have been in this spot for years and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us. But inside these walls, it’s just the same routine of reading and marking pages.
