Padmawati Jain Girls S. S. School

Finding us is not very hard if you happen to know the Johri Bazaar area well. We are tucked away at the 5th crossing on Gheewalo Ka Rasta. It is a very busy part of the city, always crowded with people shopping for jewelry or moving heavy goods on carts, but once you step inside the school gates, it gets a lot quieter. This is a school specifically for girls, and we have been a part of this particular neighborhood for a long time now. The building is old and traditional, which is typical for this part of the town, with narrow stone stairs and classrooms that look out over the street life below. Since we are right in the heart of the bazaar, there is always a bit of background noise from the outside, but the students have mostly learned to ignore it. We teach all the regular subjects that are required. Most of the girls live within walking distance, coming from the surrounding lanes and small alleys that branch off from the main road. It is a very tight-knit place where everyone knows each other’s families and siblings. We do not have a massive field for sports because of the location, but we use the inner courtyard for morning prayers and some basic physical education. Padmawati Jain Girls S. S. School has seen many generations of local families pass through its doors over the years. We just keep the doors open and focus on the daily teaching.
