P K Handicrafts

You can find P K Handicrafts over at A-7 Tonk Road in the Sita Vihar area. We’re situated pretty close to Dadi Ka Phatak. If you know that crossing, you know it stays busy with traffic almost all the time. Our workshop is just a plain building where we spend our days making various items. It’s not a showroom or a place where we have things on display behind glass. It’s more of a working space where there is always something being cut or polished. There are usually three or four of us around, mostly family and a couple of guys from the neighborhood. We don’t use any big fancy machines. Most of the work is done with simple hand tools because that’s the way we were taught. The floor is usually covered in shavings and the air smells like wood and oil. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address. People find us when they need something specific made. We don’t spend time on social media or anything. We’d rather just be working. The Tonk Road traffic can be a headache sometimes, especially in the evenings when everyone is trying to get home. But we stay late enough that the worst of it is usually over by the time we lock up. It’s a decent way to make a living and we’ve been at it long enough that we don’t really think about doing anything else.
