Running Om Bags at 46 Msb Ka Rasta in Johari Bazar is definitely an experience. If you know this part of the city, you know how narrow the lanes are. It is always crowded with people shopping for jewelry or clothes, and our little shop is tucked right in there. We deal with all sorts of bags every day. Most of the time, I am busy checking the zippers or making sure the handles are attached properly on the new stock we get. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of wall space to hang things up. It gets quite hot in the summer, and the old ceiling fan doesn't do much, but we manage. People come in looking for something to carry their heavy purchases in. I see a lot of regular faces, mostly folks who work in the bazaar themselves. We have had this spot for a long time now. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, I suppose, but there is never a good time to close up and do it. We just keep going. Sometimes the local kids run past and knock over a display, and I have to go out and set it all up again. It is just the way things are in Johari Bazar. It’s loud, it’s messy, but it’s our life here at number 46.
