Old Anokhi Textile & Handicrafts

Our place is at 145 A in Barodia Basti, over in the Arvind Nagar area of Bani Park. It is a bit tucked away, but once you find us, there is plenty to look at. We have been working with textiles and different handicrafts for a long time. The shop is full of things we've collected and made over the months. It’s not a big showroom or anything, just a regular space where we keep our inventory. Some days are slow, and we just spend time organizing the fabrics or dusting the wooden items. Bani Park is a nice area, though our little corner in the basti is more down-to-earth. We get locals and sometimes people from further away who heard about us from a friend. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we have. It’s just cloth and hand-made goods. You can see the threads and the small mistakes that come with handmade things, which is what makes them real. My brother helps me out most days. We usually have the radio playing in the background. It gets a bit dusty with all the cotton around, but we are used to it. We don't have a fancy logo or anything like that. Just the name on the door and our stacks of goods inside. If you're around Arvind Nagar, you can stop by and see what's on the shelves. It’s a lot of work.
