Ojas Handicrafts

Ojas Handicrafts is based out of D-3 in the Nawalkha Apartment on Data Ramgarh Road. It is a bit different because we operate out of an apartment building rather than a traditional storefront. This means the space is quite tight with boxes and finished crafts taking up most of the room. We spend a lot of time packing items into cardboard boxes and taping them up to be sent out. The Data Ramgarh Road is usually busy, so there is always the sound of horns and traffic outside the window. Since we are in an apartment complex, it feels very domestic and quiet inside the actual unit. We have different types of handicrafts stored in every available corner. Sometimes it is hard to navigate through the hallway when a new shipment of raw materials arrives. We use a simple wooden table for all the packing and paperwork. It is a small operation, just a couple of us handling everything from checking the items for defects to making sure the labels are stuck on straight. We do not have a display window for people to look in, so most of our work happens behind the door. It is a bit cramped and messy with bubble wrap and tape dispensers lying around, but it is where all the work gets done every day.
