New Plaza Gents Parlour

Our shop is right on Station Road, across from the Shanichar Ji Ka Mandir. It is a very busy part of Jaipur, especially being so close to Sindhi Camp and the Fort Chandra Gupt Hotel. There is always a lot of noise from the traffic and people heading to the railway station. We have been here for a good amount of time, sitting in this spot where travelers and locals both stop by. Sometimes people come in because they are waiting for a bus or a train and just need to tidy up a bit. It’s a basic gents parlour, nothing too complicated about it. We have the usual chairs and mirrors. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast during the rush hours, so we are always sweeping. It can get hot in the summer with the sun hitting the street outside, but inside we just get on with the jobs. Most of the guys who come here are regulars who have been visiting us for years. They know our names and we know how they like their hair cut. We don’t really do much advertising. People just see the sign when they are walking toward the temple or the hotel. It’s a plain place, but it works for the people around Sindhi Camp. We start early in the morning and stay open until the street gets quiet at night. It’s just how things go here at New Plaza.
