New Amar Hair Dresser

Located over in Indra Bazaar at Khatiko Ka Chauraha, we are out in the Chaksu area. It is a bit further out from the main Jaipur city center, so things are a bit more relaxed and quiet around here. The shop is at a busy intersection where people are always crossing to go to the market. We see a lot of people from the nearby villages who come into town for their errands. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a blue door and a window with the name painted in yellow. Inside, we have our two chairs and a few shelves for the combs and spray bottles. We spend the whole day dealing with all kinds of hair, mostly just simple cuts that are easy for people to maintain. The dust from the road sometimes blows in when the wind is high, so we are always wiping the counters down. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons during summer, but we keep the door open to get a bit of a breeze. There is no big staff here, just us working the chairs. We know most of the families around here, and we've seen kids grow up and start bringing their own children in for their first cuts. It’s a simple life in Chaksu. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. We start early and close when the sun goes down.
